We Are The 719 is the debut EP from Foom label head Benjamin Freeney. Featuring three dance floor cuts plus a remix from White Material founder DJ Richard, it follows on from a suite of remixes Freeney did for Tim Burgess & Peter Gordon’s “Temperature High,” and “Ode To Street Hassle,” his collaboration with Bruno Pronsato that repurposed Spacemen 3’s original and was released by Perlon. His arrangement work has appeared on releases for both Melchior & Pronsato and Chris Korda & André Baum.
Rhys ChathamやPeter Gordon & David Van Tieghem、Peter ZummoなどのNYC現代音楽、前衛音楽シーンのアーチストたちのリリースでスタートし、 Thomas Melchior、Bruno PronsatoやHerbertなどミニマルハウスラインの奇才も合流しているレーベル〈Foom〉、主宰のBenjamin Freeneyののニューリリース。ノイズを纏ったオブスキュアなトライバル・マシーン・ビート、「With The Window Open」 (Fully)と(Slightly) の2バージョン。B1の「With The Window Closed」はAdditional mixing byとしてTobias Freund.がクレジット、B2はその「With The Window Closed」のDJ Richardになっています。「We Are The 719」の意味は記されていませんが、 『アレサ・フランクリンの即興カバーから生まれた、3曲のアナログ・ダンスフロア・ナンバー』との記載があります。ダンスフロアはもちろん、コンテンポラリーダンスにもフィットするダンス・トラックスです。 (サイトウ)
